Dell Data Center Sales Executive in Beijing, China


  • This job represents a balanced sales effort of storage product and services knowledge and selling skills

  • Partners with the Direct Sales AE to grow the territory/account base to attain financial objectives

  • Understands customers’ business and storage solutions requirements

  • Territory/account management, including account planning and storage sales forecasting

  • Customarily and regularly engaged with storage decision makers at client facilities in performing primary duties

  • Leads storage sales process and utilizes all available resources to manage account


  • Supports moderately complex accounts and some large accounts

  • Gains access and manages relationships with senior level leaders and executives

  • Identifies business trends and leverages strengths of the sales team to create a differentiated storage offering and position ourselves to capture business

  • Uses complementary solutions from other areas of the business as a competitive strategy

  • Interfaces directly with customers to ensure satisfaction with our storage solutions

  • Identifies opportunities for junior account managers to fill a geographic or vertical coverage gap

  • Identifies appropriate storage products and services to meet the full range of customer needs

  • Identifies cost effective and practical alternatives for the assigned business area by bundling products/service “solutions” to maximize our opportunity while meeting customer’s needs

  • Seen as an expert in a given segment and/or channel Secondary point of contact for escalated issues

  • Models and may coach effective team behavior

  • Skillfully negotiates with others to achieve desired results/meet customer needs

  • May be assigned to a specific national account that traditionally is high in complexity and strategic importance to the firm


  • Experience in selling storage solutions with 8+ years selling experience

  • Coordinate efforts and resources across marketing, sales, services, and channel resources to maximize results.

  • Possess strong understanding of Enterprise SW Applications, Converged Infrastructures, Cloud Computing and Big Data/Data Lakes

  • Ability to articulate relevant business outcomes made possible with storage solutions at the senior IT and C-suite executive level

  • Experience of working with Large Enterprise accounts

  • Customer-focused and responsive. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and known for developing strong relationships with clients and partners

  • Experience of building strategic account plans and executing on these successfully

  • Strong work ethic and an ability to work both independently and in team environments

  • Highly developed presentation and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage change and negotiate to positive outcomes internally and in client situations

  • Innovative and creative – examples of making things happen, changing direction, finding the right solutions at the right time for the client
