The IEO organization plays a fundamental role in delivering IaaS for the ISG Development teams. We accelerate the pace of development to meet their needs by ensuring all critical systems are running 24x7 in support of Engineering Development while at the same time driving division wide Transformation Initiatives to modernize Engineering Operations across multiple lines of business.

Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways – from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What’s more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for deployment of monitoring application to include agents and initial setup/configuration

  • Responsible for the configuration and deployment of servers and storage arrays

  • Monitor and troubleshoot the technical environment for problems and root cause analysis

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures.

  • Identify system performance issues and obtain overall health of environment

  • Provide general level client/server and SAN/storage array support

  • Responsible to maintain backup/restore sessions and schedule

  • Provides technical expertise in the development of collaborative platform client application/customer interface

  • Identify and execute on proactive and preventative system upgrades

  • Monitoring and management software for physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructures

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency in hardware, software and operating systems

  • Proficiency in monitoring applications

  • Has working knowledge of back/restore client applications

  • Proficiency in orchestration tools and applications

  • Troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

  • Customer service skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Scripting and coding skills

  • Technical expertise in virtualization to include VMware suite/applications
