Database Administrator
Who provides the know-how to protect data, tools and information systems at Dell Technologies? It’s the Database Admin team within our Information Technology organization. We develop, design and optimize our information technology and systems functions that support our business processes and technical information systems platforms. Focused on efficiency, performance, availability and platform compatibility, we analyze, select and modify enterprise systems and application software, install network hardware and software and manage our databases – setting system and programming standards along the way.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides database monitoring tools engineering
Provides production monitoring tools reliability support with specific focus on availability, capacity, performance, security and recoverability.
Performs database monitoring tools installation and configuration, tuning, capacity planning, health checks, backups & recovery and change management according to documented standards
Evaluates and certifies database monitoring technologies, while assisting in the management of vendor relationships and the definition of vendor product feature sets.
Performs as a technical subject matter expert in the DB monitoring tools/platforms of highly complex, innovative and cost effective monitoring solutions
Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies
Provides ultimate direction for multiple projects and is responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems
Acts as a consultant to database teams & development groups, technical teams, executives and customers
Recognized regionally and internally as a technical and subject matter expert in a specialized field Serves as consultant to senior leadership on database programs and long-term systems strategies
Works with database functional management to initiate and lead strategic efforts
Establishes quality standards relative to all aspects of database monitoring tools

Desirable Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
