IT Program/Project Management Senior Manager

Join us as a IT Program/Project Management Senior Manager on our Service Delivery team (working remotely) supporting one of Dell’s largest customers, to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Manager, IT Project/Program Management on the IT Service Delivery team, you will provide operational support to customers and end users of the infrastructure service. You will have daily management of a blended team of project and/or program managers and technical subject matter experts; development and coaching and mentoring of the team. You will have regular communication with sales management, suppliers/partners. You will also manage the hiring, staffing and maintenance of an effective workforce, which includes career development, performance management, and pay management for team members. Some of the tasks you will be responsible for:

  • Ensure that all project managers consistently adhere to our company standard project management methodology throughout the project lifecycle, as aligned to PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)

  • Understand service offerings to aid in formulating and articulating new business opportunities to support the customer’s strategic direction and corporate growth; support the sales of services.

  • Communicate and translate our vision/strategy to staff

  • Execute and manage functional and business goals for the group including budgetary goals and objectives.

  • Influence individuals regarding issue resolution, problem solving, or championing the project management value proposition.

  • Prepare and present reports to all levels of leadership and staff.

  • Ensure critical outcomes are met for each project, program and/or portfolio for which you or your staff is responsible, in the nine PMI PMBOK project management areas. Understand the links and dependencies between the projects and other in-flight projects and/or business initiatives.

  • Ensure that effective project controls are in place to monitor project performance.

  • Provide effective performance reporting for the customer and Dell.

  • May be required to travel with overnight stays

Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Ability to apply the standard PMO functional skills to the extent necessary to oversee and manage a medium-sized team and medium-sized portfolio; solid people management skills including team building, performance management, pay management, conflict management, talent management.

  • Solid ability to articulate the typical components of an effective project management information system; understand and have a proficiency in the specific tools used for client engagement (DELL Project Management Tool (DPMT)) or similar online Project Management toolset.

  • Demonstrate solid ability to manage project delivery and project portfolio governance. Demonstrate solid ability in PMO management including executing and managing the processes and the interactions used to plan, acquire, assign, develop and manage the resources that operate a PMO Organization.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze information and draw accurate conclusions.

  • Ability to drive accurate and timely decisions. Excellent knowledge of change management methodologies. Experience Required: minimum 4 years of management experience with 12 years of relevant technical experience and Bachelors in a technical field.

Desirable Requirements

  • ITIL V4 Certification Working knowledge or certification in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Project management certification
