A ground-breaking company making game-changing products needs an exceptional supply chain. Commodity Management within Software Procurement develops and implements plans to support forecasted needs for suppliers or commodities. We use our in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets to negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with optimum pricing and terms. We also harness our understanding of commodity categories to develop optimal software and as a service sourcing strategies. Role
Develops and implements plans to support forecasted needs for supplier and/or commodities. Establishes and implements strategies for negotiating supplier agreements based on in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms. Employs knowledge of commodity qualities, transportation options, risk management and supply chain evaluation models to develop and implement optimal commodity management strategies. Negotiates contracts and ensures contractual terms and performance scorecards are being met.
Responsibilities
Provides support of software commodity supplier strategy
Drives RFQ process to determine recommended supplier selection finalists and leads the supplier selection process
Supports establishment of current business requirements and service strategy as applicable
Drives suppliers to improve their scorecard performance and reports supplier performance as required while also driving the analysis and negotiation of product costs and contracts
Develops and maintains supplier relationships while resolving issues across functions
Requirements
5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience
Capacity planning, materials requirements plan analysis skills
Effective Supplier evaluation and supply chain management skills
Demonstrable contract development, contract negotiation skills
Effective communication - verbal, written, presentation and organization skills
